Description
A delicious and flavorful Cajun Honey Butter Salmon recipe that is easy to prepare and perfect for a quick dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons room temperature butter
- 1 tablespoon pure honey
- 1 teaspoon Cajun spice blend
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- Fresh lemon wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or giving it a light coating of cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the room temperature butter, honey, Cajun spice blend, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, stirring until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels and arrange them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle the olive oil over the fillets and lightly season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the Cajun honey butter mixture generously over the top of each salmon fillet, ensuring an even coating.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked and easily flakes apart when tested with a fork.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Serve with fresh lemon wedges on the side for an added burst of flavor.
Notes
- For an extra spicy flavor, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
- This salmon pairs beautifully with a side of rice or quinoa for a hearty meal, or you can enjoy it alongside steamed vegetables for a lighter fare.
