Description

A delicious and flavorful Cajun Honey Butter Salmon recipe that is easy to prepare and perfect for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons room temperature butter
  • 1 tablespoon pure honey
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh lemon wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or giving it a light coating of cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the room temperature butter, honey, Cajun spice blend, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, stirring until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels and arrange them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle the olive oil over the fillets and lightly season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread the Cajun honey butter mixture generously over the top of each salmon fillet, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked and easily flakes apart when tested with a fork.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Serve with fresh lemon wedges on the side for an added burst of flavor.

Notes

  • For an extra spicy flavor, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
  • This salmon pairs beautifully with a side of rice or quinoa for a hearty meal, or you can enjoy it alongside steamed vegetables for a lighter fare.
