Description
A delicious and cheesy broccoli casserole loaded with crispy bacon and topped with a crunchy cracker crust.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 cup crispy bacon bits (approximately 6 slices)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup creamy sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup crushed buttery crackers (such as Ritz)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss together the fresh broccoli florets, crispy bacon bits, and shredded cheddar cheese until well mixed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and sea salt until smooth and creamy.
- Pour this mixture over the broccoli and bacon, stirring gently to ensure everything is thoroughly coated.
- Transfer the combined mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the crushed crackers with the grated Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle this crunchy topping generously over the casserole.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the top is a lovely golden brown.
- Once done, take it out of the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter option, swap out the sour cream for Greek yogurt and use turkey bacon instead.
- You can also enhance the flavor by adding diced bell peppers or onions to the broccoli mixture.
