  • 4 whole Eggs Room temperature for easier mixing
For the Cheesecake Layer
  • 16 ounces Cream Cheese Low-fat cream cheese can be substituted
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Use pure vanilla extract for extra flavor
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt is a good alternative
  • 2 whole Eggs Should be at room temperature

Method
 

Brownie Layer
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan. Melt 1 cup of butter, then mix in 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of cocoa powder. Beat in 4 eggs, then add 1 cup of flour and combine. Pour into the pan.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are firm and center is soft. Remove and cool slightly.
Cheesecake Layer
  1. Beat 16 ounces of cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add 1 cup of sugar, then 1 cup of sour cream, and 2 eggs, mixing until silky.
  2. Gently pour cheesecake batter over the cooled brownie layer.
Bake and Cool
  1. Bake the cheesecake for 50-60 minutes until edges are set with a slight jiggle in the center. Cool on a wire rack.
  2. Turn off the oven and crack the door to cool for about 1 hour. Then remove and cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
