Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of granulated sugar, 3/4 cup of water, and 1/4 cup of light corn syrup. Stir gently until well combined, then bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for about 8-10 minutes, or until it thickens and reaches approximately 310°F.
  3. Once at temperature, carefully remove from heat and let bubbling settle for a minute.
  4. Whisk in food coloring and flavoring oil once bubbling subsides.
  5. Prepare aluminum foil dusted with powdered sugar, pour the mixture onto it, and spread evenly.
  6. When cooled slightly, score the candy with a sharp knife into pieces.
  7. Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes until firm.
  8. Break the candy into pieces and store in an airtight container.
