  • 1 medium Onion Diced yellow onion.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper Diced; can substitute with red pepper.
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce Crushed tomatoes can also be used.
  • 0.5 cup Olives Sliced, can use green or black.
  • 0.25 cup Raisins Optional.
For the Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Essential spice.
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaves Remove before serving.
  • to taste Salt Adjust to your taste.
  • to taste Pepper Adjust to your taste.

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper for about 5 minutes.
  2. Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef. Cook for about 10 minutes until browned.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in tomato sauce, sliced olives, raisins, cumin, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Remove bay leaves and serve warm with rice, beans, or plantains.
