Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cube banana bread and baguette, then dry on a baking sheet in preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, and salt; heat gently. Whisk egg yolks, then temper with warm mixture.
  4. Blend remaining heavy cream, whole milk, mashed bananas, sugar, salt, and eggs until smooth.
  5. Mix bread cubes with custard and let sit for 30 minutes.
  6. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish, pour remaining custard over the top, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-60 minutes.
  7. Let cool slightly, garnish with sliced banana and serve with vanilla sauce.
