Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 4-6 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and fresh strawberries for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the strawberry puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the seeds.
  3. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar to the pitcher. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and mix well. Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, replace some of the cold water with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda.
