Steps to Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare an ovenproof skillet.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork with breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Take a portion of the meat mixture, flatten it, and place a cube of mozzarella in the center. Shape it into a ball enclosing the cheese.
- Heat olive oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes; set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté chopped onion until translucent and caramelized, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the onion and garlic mixture, stirring for about 2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually pour in beef broth and Guinness while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and return the meatballs to the skillet, coating them in gravy.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Let the skillet rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
