Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  3. Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve the meatballs with the marinara sauce on top or on the side for dipping.
