Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak sliced thinly against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped

Method

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, sesame oil, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  4. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Sauté minced garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds.
  5. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until vibrant green and tender-crisp.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Add the lo mein noodles to the skillet, tossing until heated and coated in sauce.
  8. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top before serving.
