Creating the Beverage
- In a small pot, combine 3/4 cup sugar with 3/4 cup water. Heat over medium-high heat, bringing it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat, and stir in 1 tablespoon of black gel food color until you reach your desired darkness. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
- In a large pitcher, pour in the cooled sugar syrup and add 1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice. Carefully mix in 4 cups of cold water, stirring gently to combine all the elements.
- Prepare your serving glasses by filling them with ice. Pour the enchanting Black Lemonade over the ice, garnishing each glass with a slice of lemon or your favorite spooky decorations. Serve immediately.
