Method
 

Creating the Beverage
  1. In a small pot, combine 3/4 cup sugar with 3/4 cup water. Heat over medium-high heat, bringing it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat, and stir in 1 tablespoon of black gel food color until you reach your desired darkness. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour in the cooled sugar syrup and add 1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice. Carefully mix in 4 cups of cold water, stirring gently to combine all the elements.
  3. Prepare your serving glasses by filling them with ice. Pour the enchanting Black Lemonade over the ice, garnishing each glass with a slice of lemon or your favorite spooky decorations. Serve immediately.
