Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring until browned. Season it with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat, then set aside.
  3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add fresh green beans, and blanch for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until blended. Add cooked ground beef and blanched green beans, stirring gently.
  5. Pour the beef and green bean mixture into your greased baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle crispy fried onions over the top. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until onions are golden brown.
