Ingredients

For the Bites
  • 1 can Jellied Cranberry Sauce Use canned jellied cranberry sauce for the best texture.
  • 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips Substitute with milk or white chocolate for a different twist.
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil Optional; helps achieve a smoother chocolate coating.
For Toppings (Optional)
  • 0.5 cup Crushed Nuts Choose your favorites, like walnuts or almonds.
  • 0.25 cup Festive Sprinkles Adds a holiday feel to your treats.
  • 1 pinch Chili Flakes For a spicy-sweet kick.

Equipment

  • Microwave
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Fork
  • microwave-safe bowl

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by gently removing the jellied cranberry sauce from the can, using a bottle opener if needed. Slice into ½ inch thick discs and arrange on a lined baking sheet.
  2. Place the baking sheet with the sliced cranberry sauce in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, add dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if desired). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until fully melted and glossy.
  4. Retrieve the frozen cranberry slices and dip each slice into the melted chocolate using a fork, ensuring complete coating.
  5. Place the dipped slices back on the lined baking sheet, leaving space between them. Return to the freezer for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
  6. Once the chocolate has fully hardened, serve the bites on a platter. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
