  • 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix Can be substituted with red velvet or vanilla mix.
  • 1/2 cup Melted Butter Unsalted preferred.
  • 1 large Egg
For the Filling
  • 1 package (8 oz) Cream Cheese Softened.
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar Sift before mixing.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans For nut-free version, substitute with dried fruits or chocolate chips.
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Can use semi-sweet or milk chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and 1 large egg. Mix until a soft dough forms and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips into the filling mixture.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top appears set with a slight jiggle in the center.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
