Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the baking dish and pre-bake for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Pour over the crust.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the filling is set but still jiggles slightly in the center.
- Allow to cool for at least 1 hour, then slice into squares. Optionally chill for cleaner cuts.
- Serve at room temperature or warm slightly in the microwave before enjoying.
