  • 4 pieces Wooden Skewers Essential for shaping the Christmas trees.
  • 4 tablespoons Melted Butter Unsalted is recommended for a balanced taste.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Fresh is best, jarred can work too.
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Fresh Parsley If dried, about 2 teaspoons will suffice.
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame or Poppy Seeds Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Lay out one sheet of cold puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and brush it lightly with melted butter.
  3. Layer your choice of cheese followed by slices of deli ham on top of the puff pastry.
  4. Take another sheet of puff pastry and place it over the filling, pressing firmly to seal the edges.
  5. Cut the layered pastry into 1-inch strips and fold each strip back and forth over a skewer to create a tree shape.
  6. In a bowl, combine the remaining melted butter with minced garlic and parsley for a glaze.
  7. Brush the garlic butter mixture over each puff pastry tree and place them on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until puffy and golden brown, rotating the baking sheet halfway.
  9. Allow them to cool slightly on a wire rack and serve warm as an appetizer.
