For the Topping

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • electric hand mixer
  • Rubber spatula
  • serving bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once bubbling, add 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs and stir continuously for about 3–5 minutes until they turn golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and transfer the toasted breadcrumbs to a plate to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 2 tablespoons of pickle juice, and 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix. Using an electric hand mixer, blend the ingredients on medium speed until you achieve a smooth and creamy texture, approximately 2 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in 1 cup of finely chopped dill pickles into the creamy mixture using a rubber spatula.
  4. Transfer the combined mixture into a serving bowl, smoothing the top with the back of a spoon. Evenly sprinkle the toasted panko breadcrumbs over the surface of the dip.
  5. Pair the Fried Pickle Dip with your favorite dippables such as tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or pretzels.
