Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round pie dish or a similar baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine the torn King’s Hawaiian Sweet Bread pieces and set aside.
In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add the egg, sour cream, and salt to the cream cheese mixture and blend until fully combined.
Fold in the crushed pineapple, shredded coconut, and macadamia nuts if using.
Layer half of the torn sweet bread pieces in the bottom of the prepared dish. Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the bread. Repeat with the remaining bread and cream cheese mixture.
Brush the top with the egg wash for a golden finish.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
