Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and lay flat to cool.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it up and cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in marinara sauce and diced tomatoes, simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and grated Parmesan cheese. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles and sauce.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  6. Allow lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
