Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8x8 baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Chop imitation crab sticks into small pieces or gently break flake crab meat into smaller bits.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon zest, diced green onions, and celery. Stir in ¾ cup of shredded cheddar cheese until well-coated.
  4. Spoon the crab mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle reserved cheddar cheese and remaining green onions over the top.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until warmed through and the cheese turns golden brown. Broil for an additional 1-2 minutes for a crispy top if desired.
  6. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Cut into squares and enjoy!
