Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, ensuring not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
- Create a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cooking
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and place the formed patties in the hot skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes on one side until browned. Flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until desired doneness.
- In the final minute of cooking, top each patty with diced bell peppers, onions, and pepperoni. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over patties and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
- Toast burger buns for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble by spreading pizza sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun, placing the cheesy patty on top, adding fresh basil or arugula, and topping with the other half of the bun.

Notes
Ensure not to overcook the patties for best juiciness. Use room temperature sauce and cheese for optimal melting. Choose sturdy buns to hold toppings.
