  5. Carefully remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Allow the candy to cool slightly until it reaches around 110°F (43°C).
  7. With greased hands, take a portion of the cooled mixture and begin pulling it for about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Shape the candy into bite-sized pieces and place them on the buttered surface to rest and set.
