Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 cup crispy bacon bits approximately 6 slices
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup creamy sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers such as Ritz
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss together the fresh broccoli florets, crispy bacon bits, and shredded cheddar cheese until well mixed.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and sea salt until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour this mixture over the broccoli and bacon, stirring gently to ensure everything is thoroughly coated.
  5. Transfer the combined mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. In a separate small bowl, mix the crushed crackers with the grated Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle this crunchy topping generously over the casserole.
  7. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the top is a lovely golden brown.
  8. Once done, take it out of the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a lighter option, swap out the sour cream for Greek yogurt and use turkey bacon instead.
  • You can also enhance the flavor by adding diced bell peppers or onions to the broccoli mixture.
