- Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and lay them flat to prevent sticking.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage for 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat and stir in spaghetti sauce, simmering for a few minutes.
- Mix cottage cheese or ricotta with grated Parmesan and pesto in a bowl until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread some meat sauce on the bottom of the baking pan.
- Layer lasagna noodles on top, followed by meat sauce, cheese mixture, and shredded mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Bake covered for about 30 minutes or freeze well-covered for later.
