Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  3. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor).
  4. Place the marinated chicken thighs in a single layer in a baking dish.
  5. Pour half of the barbecue sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the remaining barbecue sauce over the top.
  8. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is caramelized.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
