Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a seasoning paste.
Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and coat them evenly with the seasoning paste.
Place the seasoned chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, skin side up.
Roast in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each piece.
Return the chicken to the oven and continue roasting for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is crispy.
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
