Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with the brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits.
- Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
