  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 3/4 cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of caramel chips and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Lightly sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over each scoop of cookie dough.
