  • 1 pound Steak (Flank or Skirt) can use alternative cuts
  • 8 pieces Tostada Shells store-bought or homemade
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups Shredded Lettuce or cabbage
  • 1 large Avocado sliced or as guacamole
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Diced Red Onion or green onion
  • 1 small Jalapeño omit for milder taste
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro or parsley
  • 2 pieces Lime Wedges for serving

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by mixing olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add your flank or skirt steak, ensuring it’s well-coated in the marinade. Cover and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak and sear for 4-6 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer the steak to a cutting board to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. In a bowl, mix diced tomatoes, red onion, chopped jalapeño, lime juice, and salt to prepare the salsa.
  6. Take your tostada shells and lay them out. Layer each with a portion of steak, then top with lettuce, avocado, and salsa.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
