Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to create a herb paste.
Rub the olive oil all over the beef tenderloin, then coat the tenderloin evenly with the herb paste.
Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the beef tenderloin on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare.
Remove the skillet from the oven and let the beef rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
