  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the diced yellow onion until translucent and fragrant, about 10 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, whole milk, sautéed onions, and seasonings. Gently mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to a lined baking sheet or loaf pan and shape it into a loaf, slightly flattening the top.
  5. In a small bowl, mix ketchup with brown sugar. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of your meatloaf.
  6. Bake covered with foil for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C). Remove the foil for the final 10-15 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
