Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  2. In a skillet, add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, sautéed onion and garlic, eggs, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  4. On parchment paper, shape the meat mixture into a rectangular loaf about 1 inch thick.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella over the meat mixture and add pepperoni or prosciutto if using.
  6. Roll the meat mixture into a log using the parchment paper for assistance.
  7. Place the rolled meatloaf seam-side down on the baking sheet and pour additional marinara sauce on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  9. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
