Step-by-Step Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until just al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside, allowing it to rest in the colander while you prepare the rest of the dish.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is golden brown and caramelized. Once cooked, remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside on a plate, leaving the flavorful drippings in the pan.
- With the skillet still hot, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, followed by the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, stirring continuously, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- Pour in the BBQ sauce, adding the honey, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir the mixture and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes over medium heat, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Return the caramelized sausage back into the skillet, followed by the drained rotini pasta. Gently toss everything together over medium heat, ensuring the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and transfer your Spicy Honey BBQ Sausage & Pasta to serving bowls. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
