Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat oven according to cake mix instructions, typically around 350°F. Prepare cake mix by combining eggs, oil, and water, mixing until smooth. Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until clean toothpick. Allow to cool fully.
- Crumble cooled cake into fine crumbs in a bowl. Gradually add frosting, mixing until a dough-like consistency forms. Ensure crumbs are evenly coated.
- Roll cake mixture into 1-inch balls and chill in refrigerator for 1-2 hours or freezer for 30 minutes.
- Melt a handful of candy melts in a bowl. Dip one end of lollipop sticks into melted candy and insert into each chilled cake ball. Chill again for 10 minutes.
- Melt remaining candy melts for dipping. Dip each cake pop, rotating to coat and tap off excess candy.
- While coating is wet, add sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and more decorations quickly.
- Stand cake pops upright in Styrofoam or cake pop stand to let coating set for 15-20 minutes at room temperature or 10 minutes in the fridge.
