Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Melt ½ cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat and stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar and ⅓ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder until smooth. Cool for about 5 minutes, then whisk in 2 large eggs one at a time.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into your chocolate mixture using a spatula until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- While the brownies are cooling, melt 1 cup of white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Optional: mix in black gel food coloring.
- Once cooled, transfer the brownies to a serving dish and drizzle the melted white chocolate in a crisscross pattern to create a spider web.
- Allow the decorative white chocolate to set, then slice the brownies into squares and serve.

Notes
Allow brownies to cool completely before decorating to prevent melting the white chocolate. Use high-quality cocoa powder for best results.
