Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and sea salt, whisking them together until well mixed.
  3. In a larger bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the yogurt, vanilla extract, and egg into the butter-sugar blend, stirring until everything is smoothly combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden around the edges.
  9. Let them rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
