Ingredients

  • 2 6-ounce salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon tamari sauce
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced shallots
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the orange juice, maple syrup, tamari sauce, avocado oil, minced shallots, and grated ginger, stirring until smooth.
  3. Arrange the salmon fillets on the foil-lined baking sheet, skin side down, and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Generously drizzle the citrus glaze over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  5. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is tender and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. For a caramelized top, switch to the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for a few moments.
  8. Sprinkle chopped cilantro on top before serving.
